This wine must be made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso, it ferments on the skins in stainless steel for 2 or 3 weeks. The malo-lactic fermentation follows smoothly on from the alcoholic. Aged for 30 months in wide oak barrels, the wine has an elegant but racy character with deep ruby colour, tertiary aromas on the nose with pronounced cherries, sweet spices and smoke. The palate shows great density and the richness of the red fruit. The savoury heart of the palate is well refreshed by notes of mint with round and ripe tannins for a long finish.
