Based in Aÿ at the historic heart of Champagne, Henri Giraud draws on more than 400 years of
family heritage. Now in its 13th generation of ownership, the house has cultivated a legacy
defined by resilience, innovation and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. Working
predominantly with Pinot Noir from Aÿ’s esteemed Grand Cru vineyards, the domaine champions
meticulous parcel selection, sustainable viticulture and extended lees ageing to build depth and
precision. A hallmark of the house is its pioneering use of oak from the Argonne forest,
enhancing texture and complexity while elevating terroir expression. Each cuvée tells a story of
place and craftsmanship, articulating the singular character of their cherished corner of
Champagne with clarity, structure and gastronomic appeal. A fine golden colour with the blonde highlights typical of Pinot Noir wines that have reached maturity. To the nose, touches of peach and pair, vanilla and spices (white pepper) against a background of lemon preserve, which gives it a certain freshness. Then comes its maturity and heartiness. The initial crispness quickly gives way as the overall wine flavour opens out. Its body, consistence and even fullness give the wine its structure. The mineral notes and light tannins contribute to a long, winey, and warm finish with a silky harshness over aromas of bitter almonds and biscuit.
