Gewürztraminer is a famously grown in cool climates such as Alsace and Germany. However, in certain areas of New Zealand it flourishes and creates elegant, perfumed wines. The nose is aromatic and full of rose petals and orange rind. The perfumed aromas follow through on the palate with a touch of sweet spices to add complexity. This wine is well balanced with good weight on the palate, a refreshing acidity and good length. Gewürz in German means `spice` and the spicy notes in this wine make it the perfect accompaniment to asian dishes.
